R&D Systems Engineer – Mass Spectrometry

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and research scientists to develop new hardware and software for ion trap mass spectrometers
- Lead and participate in the development of sample introduction techniques
- Actively participate in R&D efforts including instrument design and troubleshooting and prototype building, designing, and testing
- Manage project teams of engineers and chemists
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering/Physics/Analytical Chemistry or a related field (M.S. or PhD preferred)
- Background in systems engineering; well-rounded knowledge of electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and/or mechanical engineering
- Experience designing, manufacturing, or running an ion trap mass spectrometer or related analytical instrument
- Excellent communication and organization skills and a drive to learn and think “outside the box”
